Helping and Connecting Through Your Donations
Every year, Muslims support countless people in need with their Zakaat, one of the five pillars of Islam. Zakaat helps redistribute wealth and contributes to social justice. Have you calculated your Zakaat yet?
One of the five pillars of Islam is the zakat. Paying the zakat is a duty of every adult Muslim who has sufficient financial assets. Surah At Tauba, verse 60, describes the eight groups to which zakat can be given: "The zakat is only for the poor and the needy, and for those who are burdened in its collection, and for those whose hearts are reconciled, and for (the ransoming of) slaves, and for those who are overcome with guilt, and (to put in) for Allah's cause, and for the (stranded) traveler: (this is) an obligation of Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise."
Fitr (sadaqa al-fitr) is a special form of zakat that every Muslim is supposed to pay to the less fortunate during the month of Ramadan.
Through your donations to the Zakaat and Fitr Campaign, we help the poor, needy, oppressed, victims and (war) refugees. Furthermore, from the fund we provide scholarships to the financially weak students and support (education) projects with social and community interest.
