Clean Water Well Project for Chad

Stronger Together for Clean Water:
On January 3, 2025, Stichting SUR (SUNRISE) achieved a significant milestone.

Following months of planning, preparation, and work, three new water wells were opened in Chad. These wells not only provide access to clean drinking water but also offer hundreds, even thousands, of children and impoverished families the opportunity for a healthier and more dignified life.

Why Is Clean Water Vital?
In many parts of the world, particularly Chad, clean drinking water is a luxury. Families have to walk miles every day to access a water source, and often that source is unsafe. Lack of clean water leads to illness, loss of education and employment opportunities, and even life-threatening situations. These wells put an end to the daily struggles of many people.

How Did Stichting SUNRISE Achieve This?
The past month was filled with determination and collaboration for Stichting SUNRISE. Thanks to the contributions of volunteers, donors, and partners, the necessary resources were raised and logistical arrangements in Chad were completed. All stages of the project, from finding suitable sites to drilling the wells, were meticulously carried out. All of this was done for one purpose: to create a lasting impact in the communities most in need.

A Moment of Hope and Joy
At the opening ceremony of the water wells, villagers gathered to watch the water flow. It was an emotional moment for many. Children played with the flowing water, mothers filled their first buckets, and elderly residents thanked the volunteers with tears of joy. This is precisely the mission of Stichting SUR: to bring hope where there is despair and to unite people for a better future.
