Every week, the Sunrise Foundation organizes a food program in Chad, providing hundreds of people with a nutritious meal. This project, known as “Dinner in Chad,” aims to support vulnerable families and provide them with a healthy meal in a region where food insecurity is a major problem.

Why is the “Dinner in Chad” project important? In many parts of Africa, including Chad, people struggle to find food on a daily basis. Poverty, drought and limited access to food sources cause many families to become malnourished. Our “Dinner in Chad” project offers structural help by distributing a warm and nutritious meal to underprivileged families on a weekly basis.

- Location determination: Together with our local partners, we identify areas of greatest need.
- Meal preparation: With the help of local cooks and volunteers, nutritious meals are prepared using ingredients such as rice, beans, vegetables and meat.
- Distribution: In an organized manner, meals are distributed to families, children and the elderly who otherwise have little or no access to food.
- Community involvement: We actively involve local people in the process so that they not only receive food, but also experience a sense of belonging.
