As SUNRISE Foundation we strive to meet the water needs of people in thirsty countries. As a foundation that works for the benefit of society, we set out with the slogan "A life for a hope"...
We open wells in Africa so that one more family does not experience the pain of a child due to thirst or dirty water, and one more child does not become an orphan.
"And We created from water all living things. Will they not then believe?"
(Surah Al-Anbiya 21:30) Water is life. A well is a source of life, it means access to clean drinkwater. Each well, which touches the hearts of people with its coolness and refreshes their hearts, turns into not one but a thousandand smiles. While the faces of the people are yawning with joy, the hearts of the helpers are filled with peace and happiness. In countries where hundreds of children lose their lives every day due to contaminated water, wors we strive to provide the water of their life realize.
Hadrat Sa'd b. 'Ubadah's mother had died and he came to the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) and said:"O rasulullah of Allah, my mother has passed away. May I give alms on her behalf?" he asked.
The Prophet (s.a.w.) said: "Yes." Then Sa'd (r.a.): "Which charity is better and more valuable?" The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.) said: "It is to meet the water needs of man and animal. " At this Hadrat Sa'd built a fountain in Medina as an alms. This fountain served for many years.
(see Nesai, Waya, 9; Ibn Majah, Edeb; Ibn Hanbal, Musnad, 5/284; 6/7)
The answer of our Prophet (SAW) has given us an important lesson. What we should learn is how important it is to help meet people's need for water.
In addition, fruit trees such as mango, papaya and dates not only provide food, but also a stable source of income for local communities. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "If a Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop and birds, people or animals eat from it, this counts as a form of charity." (Sahih al-Bukhari, SahihMuslim)
What starts small can grow into something big. A single tree can blend into a vast forest, a place full of life and oxygen for the world around us. Trees do so much more than provide shade - they protect the soil, capture water, promote biodiversity and purify the air. Indispensable to humans and nature, they are the breath of our planet.
Water is vital to every living thing. Soil in wetlands is beneficial for agriculture. And animals fed on plants are more productive. People who live in areas where plants and animals are productive lead prosperous lives. In areas where there is insufficient water, drought occurs. People in deprived areas, who suffer from thirst, find themselves in a more difficult situation because of the malnutrition that drought brings. While some are afflicted with thirst, others struggle with various diseases caused by contaminated water. Although 70% of the world is covered with water, only 2.5% of the world's water is fresh water, i.e., potable water. Therefore, although countries have adequate water resources, drinking water supplies vary by continent, region and country.
When it comes to poverty or thirst, Africa comes to mind first. Indeed, Africa is a rich continent in terms of underground and above-ground resources. But the people of Africa cannot benefit from these resources because of economic, ethnic, political and climatic reasons. While we can easily get water if we turn on the tap, people fighting for their lives in Africa can only get dirty water by walking for hours every day. The dirty water they reach causes diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, hepatitis, typhoid, river blindness, pneumonia and polio. The people in arid countries, who must continue their lives with diseases, lose their lives every day.
According to the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD), 66% of people in Africa face water problems in arid and semi-arid areas. We are opening wells in Africa with the support of our volunteers and donors to solve this problem in the disadvantaged region.
How long does it take to build a well? Depending on the location, soil conditions and type of well, construction takes on average between 6 to 12 weeks. For deeper and more complex wells, this can take a few weeks longer.
How does the Sunrise Foundation help? Thanks to donations from generous donors like you, Sunrise Foundation is able to realize wells in areas where people depend on impure water sources. A well can be opened by you alone on behalf of you or your family, or you can participate in ongoing projects and donate a share to make ongoing well projects a reality. By investing together in clean water, we prevent disease and improve the quality of life of entire communities.
How can you contribute? Your donation allows us to build wells and make a direct impact on the lives of people who otherwise do not have access to clean drinking water. A well can be opened by you alone on behalf of you or your family, or you can participate in ongoing projects and donate a share to make ongoing well projects a reality. Together we bring change, one drop at a time.
With the world's population growing by the day, the need for water is also increasing. Moreover, industrialization, global warming and unconscious water use indicate that global water shortages will occur in the coming years. As the team at SUNRISE being we seek to use this awareness to ensure that people in disadvantaged areas have access get to potable water. As founding committed to the welfare of society, we have taken it as our duty to work in aridregions to open wells in accordance with our fraternal bonds, to refresh the chapped lips, every drop of which gives a thousand hope.
According to World Health Organization data, 2.1 billion people cannot reach clean water, that is, they meet their needs with dirty water. And 263 million people have to wait half an hour each time for clean water. According to UNICEF data, more than 700 children under the age of 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by unsanitary water.
The data in the research reports are not numbers or statistics, but a laughing or crying child, spouse, friend or parent. They are people who, like us, have feelings and dreams and raise their hands to heaven and pray for the difficulties they face. For them, water is a matter of life, a hope of life, a dream.
In the lands of deprivation, a well means clinging to life, it means âbıhayat. A well means thousands of lives, thousands of glimlachen, thousands of futures.
