The Holy Quran is a source of wisdom, a treasure full of jewels on every page. Reading the Quran is the most virtuous act of worship. The Quran is a rope, one end of which is in Allah’s hand and the other end is in our hands. Those who hold on tightly to that rope will attain salvation.
The Quran is the literal word of Allah revealed through the Archangel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, in the Arabic language. It started at the end of December of the year 609 (Allah is the All-Knowing) in the Cave of Hira. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, often visited this cave to relax and pray. However, on the day in question he was visited here by the Archangel Gabriel with the following message:
{Al-Alaq – The Clot/Embryo (Chapter 96), Verse 1-5}
1 – Read in the Name of your Lord, the One who created (all).
2 – He created man from a blood clot.
3 – Read, and your Lord is the Most Noble.
4 – The One Who taught (writing) with the pen.
5 – He has taught man what he does not know.
